Firefly The Firefly, the new hit Whedon series, was a result of her one-off episode. In Summer Glau's role, River Tam was a complicated role that Glau did well. Tam or Tam, as the character in the film was named, was the subject of research conducted by the government to make her the ideal assassin. The ability of Tam to manage her feelings was removed from her. Glau had the opportunity to show off not only her acting abilities but also her skills as a combat ace on Firefly. Glau had the ability to use her athletic talent because she was training to be an assassin. Summer Glau has been a ballerina from the age of a child. The injury to her right foot, however, that put the end of her dancing career. Firefly was only on for one year but gained a loyal audience. Whedon was so devoted to Firefly that he decided to return two years after. Summer Glau however continued to produce high quality.
